INTEGRITY,
SUBSTANCE
ABUSE,
RELIABILITY,
WORK
ETHIC...
KNOW ABOUT THESE BEFORE HIRING SOMEONE!
The Step
One Survey II® is a pre-employment job
assessment tool for pre-screening Medical Professional Applicants.
It
provides health care organizations a structured, pre-employment job
interview process and job attitude assessment to help you identify the
best candidates for positions in all areas of your medical organization.
The Step
One Survey II® (SOS II) evaluates job
applicants attitudes in the key areas of integrity, substance abuse,
reliability, and work ethic - before the expense of hiring and training
them.
That
information, along with specific interview questions, are
provided in the Step One Survey II® job
assessment report.
It only
takes about 20 minutes for the applicant to complete the job
assessment, and the report is back to you within moments of its
completion. The SOS II is available in English, Spanish and
French Canadian. It is normally completed over the Internet, but is also
available in booklet form.
What
pre-hire questions can you ask?
Increasing
lawsuits have made it extremely difficult, even illegal, for you to
ask important questions to determine the integrity of a job candidate.
Past employers can be held liable for information they give you.
If you
choose to avoid hiring an applicant, can you prove that you did not
discriminate? In the absence of objective data, it is often difficult to
demonstrate that your decision was made objectively without regard to
gender, race, age, etc.
However,
with the Step One Survey II® the
questions asked are all legally allowed before employment. This
allows you the opportunity to then ask follow up questions regarding
their answers.
In
addition, interview questions are provided to help with the job
interview process, along with a numerical score of their attitude in
regard to their four important work attitudes: Integrity, Substance
Abuse, Reliability and Work Ethic.
Employee
surveys reflect these harsh realities:
- 56% of working people admit they have lied to their supervisors
- 41% say they have falsified records
- 64% admit using the Internet for personal reasons during working
hours
- 35% have stolen from their employers, by their own admission.
- 31% abuse drugs or alcohol
Medical
facilities, of any type, simply cannot afford to hire someone
without taking adequate steps to ensure the person has the business
attitude to properly represent the medical organization, and give a full
day's work for a full day's pay.
The
Step One Survey II® addresses challenges
that can directly effect the quality, productivity and, ultimately,
profitability of your facility such as:
- Unauthorized disclosure of confidential or restricted computer
data
- Theft of supplies and inventory shrinkage
- Clocking in or out for other employees
- Revealing confidential information and/or organizational
statistics to unauthorized recipients
- Absenteeism and/or tardiness
- Drug use
- Job performance
- Fraud
- Job-hopping
